These paintings are contemplative in nature and are intended to be soft and matte in feel and look. The paint is applied with felt instead of a brush to make a satin finish, and these are layered to create depth and nuance. The overlay is often gold of something stark in colour for contrast. These paintings fall organically into a space and, curiously, add space, or create more volume, instead of taking space away. What I am looking for is something beautiful, capable of acting as a companion to meditation. These are also part of a practice of "asemic art" which hovers between the visual and the written.
