This is an ongoing series of paintings collectively titled "The Great Trees of the Forest." The paintings are inspired by the great northern rainforests of British Columbia and the Gulf Islands. They are all done with acrylic on canvas, and only the primary colours are used so much of the affective factor consists of colour blending and mixing to produce the desired mood, tone, and even the drama of the forest. The paintings are also about the vantage point of the viewer; whether you are seeing things from an eagle's point of view, for example, or of a human on the ground or of an animal in a tree. These paintings are either 36 or 24 inches square. A couple are slightly smaller. Below are some from the series.
